Helena Penaforte is an integrated researcher of the NursID group, Thematic Line 1 – Preventive Medicine and Societal Challenges of CINTESIS.
She graduated in Nursing (Medical-Surgical Specialization) at the Catholic University of Portugal (Braga), in 1993. She then earned her Master Degree in Promotion and Education for Health from the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD) in 1999, and her Doctoral Degree in Nursing from the University of Lisbon.
Currently, she works as a Coordinating Professor at the Nursing School of Porto (ESEP). She also integrates the teaching staff of the Higher School of Nursing Dr. José Timóteo Montalvão Machado, in Chaves, as Coordinating Professor, and occupies other relevant positions. She is also the President of the Regional Nursing Council for the North of Portugal (2016 to 2019), and member of the Nursing Council and of the Quality Commission of Nursing. She has authored several scientific articles and books in the field of Nursing.
