CINTESIS, through its researchers at the University of Aveiro, is part of the European PhD Network HOMEDEM – Co-designing a Home with Dementia, aimed at providing specialized interdisciplinary training in design and dementia care to a new generation of early career researchers.

Oscar Ribeiro and Liliana Sousa (CINTESIS@RISE) and Rita Maldonado Branco (ID+) are the Portuguese researchers involved in this network, which focuses on supporting people with dementia to stay in their homes, as long as they wish and until it is possible, with the appropriate care, as well as with carefully designed products and services, in a participatory way.

To this end, a call has been opened for eight PhD candidates, within the HOMEDEM Doctoral Training Network, in one of seven research institutions that are part of the Consortium, namely: LUCA School of Arts and KU Leuven (Belgium), TU Eindhoven and Maastricht University (Netherlands), University of Galway (Ireland), Politecnico di Milano (Italy) and Universidade de Aveiro (Portugal).

Those interested in participating in the call for HOMEDEM project contracts should do so via the official website.

The European HOMEDEM Network has received overall funding of about 2.2 million euros from the European Union’s Framework Programme for Research and Innovation – Horizon 2020, under a Marie-Skłodowska-Curie Actions’ Doctoral Network.
