Irene Carvalho is an integrated researcher of the NeuroGen group, Thematic Line 2 – Clinical & Translational Research of CINTESIS.
She earned her Doctoral Degree from the University of Northwestern in 2003. She studied Psychology and has developed her research work mainly in the fields of Virtual Reality in Rehabilitation, Cognitive Rehabilitation, Serious Games, Communication of Bad News and Clinical Communication.
She is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Neurosciences and Mental Health of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto. She is also a member of the Scientific Committee and the Monitoring Committee of the courses taught in this faculty. She is also the President of the Board of the Portuguese Society for Clinical Communication in Health Care.
