Ivone Maria Resende Figueiredo Duarte is an integrated member of the ManEthics research group of CINTESIS.
She graduated in Psychology in 2001 from the University Institute of Maia and eraned her Doctoral Degree in Bioethics from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto (FMUP) with the thesis “Qualidade de vida em crianças e adolescentes surdos portadores de implante coclear” (Quality of life in children and adolescents with cochlear implants).
Ivone Duarte is an Assistant Professor of the Department of Community Medicine, Health Information and Decision (MEDCIDS) of FMUP, with many research articles published her main research areas: Ethics, Psychology, Integration of disabled persons, Ethics and Privacy in Medical Education and Education for Bioethics.
She is the director of the course on Introduction to Palliative Care in the Master’s Degree in Palliative Care and the Scope and Context course unit Palliative Care in the Doctoral Program in Palliative Care. She is also the director of the curricular unit of Ethics at the End of Life in the Doctoral Program of Bioethics of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto.
