Luís M. Moura is an integrated member of the research group  CardioCare, of the TL2 – Clinical & Translational Research at CINTESIS.

He has a PhD in Medicine from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto (FMUP), where he is Visiting Associate Professor. He graduated in Medicine from FMUP in 1991, and has been a specialist in Cardiology since 2000. He currently works as a cardiologist at the Hospital Lusíadas Porto.

Over the past two decades, he has held prominent positions in professional organizations, including the Portuguese Society of Cardiology and the European Society of Cardiology (ESC). He belonged to the Editorial Boards and was a referee of several scientific journals. He is the author of book chapters and scientific publications, and has received several awards in his area of research. His main areas of interest include valvular heart disease, heart failure, cardiovascular risk factors and imaging. In 2021, he was elected as a member of the ESC’s board and advisor for Valvular Heart Disease.
