“We are facing a tsunami in mental health. I have little doubt about that and I am very afraid of the answer,” said Miguel Ricou, a researcher at CINTESIS – Centre for Health Technology and Services Research and professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto (FMUP).

According to Agência LUSA, the specialist fears what may “come next”, considering that the response continues to be “little” for the demand, the organization “weak” and the reaction “very late”.

The president of the Speciality Council of the Order of Doctors also left a warning: “the later we get to people, potentially the more serious the pictures can be”.
