Portugal has the highest prevalence (2.9%) of heart failure in 11 countries included in the CardioRenal and Metabolic disease (CaReMe) Heart Failure study (Germany, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Norway, United Kingdom, Sweden, Switzerland, Canada, and Israel).
Tiago Taveira-Gomes, researcher at CINTESIS/Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto, is one of the authors of this study, conducted in collaboration with Cristina Gavina, professor at FMUP and cardiologist at Unidade Local de Saúde de Matosinhos (ULSM).
