Maria Cristina Teixeira Santos is an integrated researcher of the ProNutri group, Thematic Line 1 – Preventive Medicine & Societal Challenges of CINTESIS.
In 1988, she graduated in Veterinary Medicine from the School of Veterinary Medicine of the Technical University of Lisbon, where she also completed a postgraduate course in Veterinary Public Health, in 2003, and a Master Degree in the same field, in 2005. In 2016, she earned her Doctoral Degree in Food Consumption Sciences and Nutrition of the Faculty of Nutrition and Food Science of the University of Porto.
She has authored several publications, both scientific and educational, such as the Manual “Alimentação Inteligente – Coma bem, poupe mais” (Smart Eating– eat well, save more), of the Directorate-General of Health, in the framework of the National Programme for the Promotion of Healthy Eating, a work awarded in 2013 with the Nutrition Awards.
She works as an Assistant Professor at FCNAUP – Faculty of Nutrition and Food Science of the University of Porto.
