Pedro Leão Neves is an integrated researcher of the CriticalMed research group, Thematic Line 2 – Clinical and Translational Research of CINTESIS.
He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto (FMUP) and specialized in Nephrology. Pedro Leão Neves also holds a Master degree in Bioethics and a Doctoral Degree in Nephrology from the University of Lisbon.
He has worked as a Nephrologist for 26 years, holding different positions at the District Hospital of Faro over the years. Some of the most relevant were the Direction of the Emergency Room Service, the Direction of the External Consultation Service and Presidency of the Ethics Commission for Health.
At the same time, he has worked as professor and researcher, exceling as professor of Nephrology in the pre-graduate education and as clinical researcher in the fields of Chronic Kidney Disease, Mineral Metabolism and Cardiovascular Disease in Chronic Kidney Disease.
Currently, he is the Director of the Nephrology Service of the Hospital of Faro (Hospital Center of Algarve, EPE) and a Guest Associate Professor of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Algarve.
