The Newsletter of the project Cuidar de Quem Cuida (CQC) has been launched. CQC is an innovative project, involving the participation of CINTESIS – Center for Health Technology and Services Research, that promotes support strategies for informal caregivers of dependent people.

“The monthly newsletter of the project Cuidar de Quem Cuida will allow us to reach all caregivers and all those who are interested in receiving information about the project and about topics related to the provision of care. We want to be closer and take care of those who care for others”, explains Rita Tavares de Sousa, a researcher at CINTESIS who is a member of the project’s team.

In the first number, CQC calls our attention to the deadlines for requesting the Informal Caregiver Statute and discloses some of the new initiatives, such as Digital Talks, informal conversations that aim to create a space for reflection and sharing on topics of interest to caregivers.

The objective of Cuidar de Quem Cuida is to train networks to implement specialized support responses to support informal caregivers.

The project was recognized as innovative in January 2019, when it received the Social Impact Title (TIS in Portuguese), one of the four financing instruments of the Portugal Social Innovation initiative, becoming the first TIS in Europe in the health area.

With funding from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation (FCG) and José de Mello Saúde, the project is being implemented by the Sanguedo Social Assistance Center for Children – CASTIIS and MAZE, in partnership with Portugal Social Innovation, the Central Administration of the Health (ACSS) and CINTESIS.
