ProNutri is a multidisciplinary research group constituted by integrated researchers and collaborators of CINTESIS coming from different national institutions, namely from the NOVA Medical School – Faculty of Medical Sciences of Lisbon, the Faculty of Nutrition and Food Science and the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto, besides several public and private hospitals of reference.

The objective of ProNutri is to identify the causal effects and progression mechanisms of chronic diseases for which food plays an important role, for example, Diabetes type 2, cardiovascular diseases, neurodegenerative diseases and cancer; thereby contributing to the development of prevention strategies and new therapeutic targets.
