Miguel Ricou, coordinator of the European platform Wish to Die and researcher at CINTESIS, stood up last Friday for the creation of legislation on euthanasia that “safeguards people’s best interest”, allowing for the assessment of cases “on an individual basis”. In a statement to journalists, Miguel Ricou pointed out, in particular, the need to distinguish between a terminal patient and a patient who has an incurable but non-terminal disease, such as quadriplegic patients.
