O III Seminário Internacional Alzheimer e outras Demências: Conhecer, Compreender e Intervir irá realizar-se nos dias 13, 14 e 15 de dezembro, no Auditório da Escola Superior de Tecnologia e Gestão do Instituto Politécnico de Viseu (IPV). A iniciativa é organizada pela Escola Superior de Educação de Viseu, em parceria com as Obras Sociais do Pessoal da Câmara Municipal e Serviços Municipalizados de Viseu, e conta com o apoio do CINTESIS.
“A demência constitui a expressão clínica de várias entidades patológicas, sendo a doença de Alzheimer a mais prevalente. As suas repercussões drásticas ao nível da qualidade de vida, a par do aumento exponencial da sua incidência, fazem com que seja uma das grandes problemática da atualidade. Este evento pretende proporcionar um espaço de partilha de evidências científicas e experiências práticas neste âmbito, com vista à reflexão em torno de uma resposta mais integrada e atempada”, explica a organização.
O programa prevê a participação de especialistas nacionais e internacionais com mérito reconhecido nesta área, entre os quais vários investigadores do CINTESIS. São eles Maria João Azevedo, Soraia Teles de Sousa, Cátia Pires (oradores), Constança Paul, Óscar Ribeiro, Pedro Machado Santos (membros da comissão científica) e Lia Araújo (comissão organizadora).
Os investigadores, profissionais e estudantes que quiserem apresentar os seus trabalhos na área do envelhecimento, em especial na doença de Alzheimer e outras demências, poderão submetê-los até ao dia 13 de novembro para o email alzheimerviseu2018@gmail.com.

The III International Seminar of Alzheimer and Other Dementias: Learn, Understand and Intervene will take place on December 13-15, at the Auditorium of the School of Technology and Management of the Polytechnic Institute of Viseu (IPV). The initiative is organized by the School of Education of Viseu, in partnership with The People’s Social Projects of the City Council and Municipal Services of Viseu, and with the support of CINTESIS.
“Dementia is the clinical expression of several pathologies among which Alzheimer’s disease is the most prevalent. Its drastic repercussions on the quality of life, coupled with the exponential increase in its incidence, make it one of the great problems of the present time. This event aims to provide a space for sharing scientific evidence and practical experiences in this area, with a view to reflection on a more integrated and timely response”, explains the organization.
According to the program the participation of national and international experts with recognized merit in this area is expected. Among those are several CINTESIS researchers, such as Maria João Azevedo, Soraia Teles de Sousa, Cátia Pires (speakers), Constança Paul, Óscar Ribeiro, Pedro Machado Santos (members of the Scientific Committee) and Lia Araújo (Organizing Committee).
Researchers, professionals and students who wish to present their work in the area of Ageing, especially in Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, may submit their work until November 13 to the email alzheimerviseu2018@gmail.com.
