DESCRIPTION:A investigadora Andreia Teixeira\, do CINTESIS – Centro de Investigação em Tecnologias e Serviços de Saúde\, será a primeira oradora do ciclo “À Conversa com…”\, que se realizará no próximo dia 26 de junho\, a partir das 10 horas\, na Biblioteca do MEDCIDS/Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade do Porto. A entrada é livre. \n“Não é uma aula. Não é um seminário. Não é um workshop. É uma conversa informal\, onde se pretende apresentar problemas\, partilhar dúvidas\, trocar experiências”\, explica Cristina Costa Santos\, a responsável deste evento. \nO mote para a conversa é: “Como incorporar a variabilidade entre observadores nas medidas de validação de testes de diagnóstico: uma abordagem”. \nComo explica Andreia Teixeira\, “não existe consenso sobre qual o método estatístico mais apropriado para medir concordância entre diferentes observadores”. De facto\, uma baixa concordância entre observadores\, algo que acontece frequentemente em testes de diagnóstico\, “pode provocar grandes discrepâncias nas estimativas de sensibilidade e especificidade em testes de validade”. A questão é: “Como contornar este problema?” \nO ciclo “À Conversa com…” integra-se na atividade do grupo de investigação do BioData – Bioestatística e Análise Inteligente de Dados\, que tem Cristina Costa Santos como investigadora principal.

DESCRIPTION:“Fora da Zona de Conforto – Testemunhos de enfermeiros que se viram na contingência de emigrar”: é este o título do livro que Paulo Marques\, investigador do CINTESIS – Centro de Investigação em Tecnologias e Serviços de Saúde/Escola Superior de Enfermagem do Porto (ESEP)\, irá apresentar no dia 19 de junho\, pelas 19 horas\, na livraria Bertrand do Alameda Shopping\, na cidade do Porto. \nA obra\, que totaliza 224 páginas\, dá testemunhos de enfermeiros que foram obrigados a sair de Portugal devido à crise financeira e que rumaram a outros países\, na Europa e fora dela\, para poderem exercer a sua profissão. \nComo pode ler-se na sinopse\, “a crise financeira que nos abalou mais recentemente\, mas sobretudo as opções políticas que a acompanharam\, conduziram muitos para a inevitabilidade de procurar fora o que não encontravam dentro. E\, em dado momento\, foram até incentivados a sair da zona de conforto”. \nPaulo Marques escreve sobre a frustração das “expectativas acalentadas por um dado nível de formação”\, um dos motivos que levaram os enfermeiros a deixar o país natal\, e apresenta as diferenças na prática da Enfermagem em vários pontos do globo. O livro é dado à estampa pela Coolbooks. \nEnfermeiro desde 1987\, mestre em Ciências da Enfermagem pela Universidade do Porto e doutorado em Enfermagem pela Universidade Católica Portuguesa\, Paulo Marques é atualmente docente da Escola Superior de Enfermagem do Porto e investigador do CINTESIS.

Investigadoras do CINTESIS/ICBAS irão abordar o tema da estimulação cognitiva\, enquanto Paulo Santos\, investigador do CINTESIS e responsável pela plataforma METIS\, irá falar sobre literacia em saúde. \nAs palestras e conferências irão decorrer na Biblioteca do Fundo Antigo e o arranque será dado a partir das 9 horas\, com uma cerimónia de abertura a cargo de Pedro Rodrigues\, Vice-Reitor para a Investigação\, Inovação e Internacionalização da Universidade do Porto. O encontro\, que se realiza pela segunda vez em Portugal\, conta com o apoio científico do CINTESIS – Centro de Investigação em Tecnologias e Serviços de Saúde\, sendo presidido por Carla Rêgo\, pediatra e investigadora desta Unidade. \nO objetivo é promover a discussão científica entre profissionais que trabalham na área da obesidade infantil em todo o mundo\, designadamente pediatras\, médicos de Medicina Geral e Familiar\, nutricionistas\, psicólogos e profissionais do exercício\, entre muitos outros\, de modo a aumentar as capacidades e competências na abordagem desta doença\, que constitui um problema de saúde pública a nível mundial. \nPara além do Congresso\, que irá abordar temas fulcrais como a prevenção\, o diagnóstico precoce\, a intervenção terapêutica\, a cirurgia e a diabetes\, irá decorrer\, no dia 17 de novembro\, o Curso Pós-graduado em Obesidade Pediátrica. The meeting\, which is in its second edition\, has the scientific sponsorship of CINTESIS – Center for Health Technology and Services Research\, and is chaired by Carla Rêgo\, pediatrician and researcher at this unit. \nThe goal is to promote scientific discussion among professionals working in the field of childhood obesity around the world\, including pediatricians\, general practitioners and family doctors\, nutritionists\, psychologists and exercise professionals\, among others\, in order to increase the skills and competences in addressing this disease\, which is a worldwide public health problem. \nThe congress will address key issues such as prevention\, early diagnosis\, therapeutic intervention\, surgery and diabetes. In addition\, on November 17\, the Postgraduate Course in Pediatric Obesity will also take place.
