DESCRIPTION:As investigadoras Sara Guerra e Ana Martins\, ambas do CINTESIS/Universidade de Aveiro\, vão participar na edição de 2023 do Festival Pint of Science Portugal. Será no dia 24 de maio\, pelas 20h00\, no Yeah! Aveiro. \nNesta sessão da “Cabecinha pensadora”\, intitulada “Mais vida\, menos tédio”\, Sara Guerra irá falar sobre os desafios associados à solidão e ao isolamento social nos adultos mais velhos e sobre a importância do envolvimento destas pessoas no planeamento de intervenções\, serviços e tecnologias que visem minimizar os impactos negativos daqueles fenómenos. A investigadora irá também apresentar as principais conclusões do projeto MOAI LABS\, em que o CINTESIS participou. \nAna Martins irá mostra como a tecnologia pode facilitar a reabilitação cognitiva. “Vamos conhecer uma tecnologia para treino cognitivo e físico simultâneo e outra para treino cognitivo online supervisionado e vamos refletir sobre as implicações da usabilidade neste tipo de tecnologias”\, refere o programa. \nA Pint of Science é uma associação sem fins lucrativos cujo principal objetivo é tornar acessível a discussão científica a toda a população. Para tal\, anualmente\, realizamos um festival internacional de ciência\, onde investigadores de diferentes áreas são convidados a apresentar os seus projetos de uma forma simples e interessante num ambiente descontraído como um bar. O programa deste ano pode ser visto aqui. \nOs ingressos para este evento podem ser adquiridos online. \n———————- \nThe researchers Sara Guerra and Ana Martins\, both from CINTESIS/University of Aveiro\, will participate in the 2023 edition of the Pint of Science Portugal Festival. It will take place on May 24th\, at 20h00\, at Yeah! Aveiro. \nIn this session of the “Thinking head”\, entitled “More life\, less boredom”\, Sara Guerra will talk about the challenges associated with loneliness and social isolation in older adults and the importance of involving these people in the planning of interventions\, services and technologies that aim to minimize the negative impacts of these phenomena. The researcher will also present the main conclusions of the MOAI LABS project\, in which CINTESIS participated. \nAna Martins will show how technology can facilitate cognitive rehabilitation. “We will learn about a technology for simultaneous cognitive and physical training and another for supervised online cognitive training and we will reflect on the implications of usability in this type of technology\,” says the program. \nPint of Science is a non-profit association whose main goal is to make scientific discussion accessible to the entire population. To achieve this\, we annually hold an international science festival\, where researchers from different areas are invited to present their projects in a simple and interesting way\, in a relaxed atmosphere like a bar. It is organized by the Cochrane Portugal Associated Centre of Porto\, directed by Luís Filipe Azevedo\, FMUP professor and CINTESIS@RISE researcher. \nUnder the theme “Real World Data and Evidence-Based Decision Making: Present and Future\, Promises and Challenges”\, this meeting will be attended by renowned international guests\, namely Uwe Siebert\, from Harvard University\, Melanie Calvert\, from UMIT TIROL (Austria)\, Jesper Kjaer\, Co-Chair at the European Medicines Agency (EMA)\, and Kenneth Quinto\, Senior Medical Advisor at the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) (USA). \nFMUP’s director\, Altamiro da Costa Pereira\, and the director of Cochrane Portugal\, António Vaz Carneiro\, will also be present at the opening. \nUnder discussion will be the role and relevance of data and real-world evidence in the context of decision making and health technology assessment. Different perspectives and dimensions will be focused\, from the academic\, scientific and methodological points of view\, through the role of patient-centered and patient-reported clinical outcome measurement methods and tools\, to the perspective and positioning of regulatory agencies. \nThe event will be a hybrid\, occurring both in person\, at the Aula Magna of the FMUP\, and online. Já Soraia Teles\, também investigadora do CINTESIS\, faz parte da rede de mentores.
