HealthySystems – an enterprise born in CINTESIS, which holds the U.Porto spin-off seal (awarded by U.Porto Innovation) – was awarded the José de Mello prize of health by the group with the same name. The awarding took place within the scope of the program Grow to encourage innovation. 450 startups from different areas of activity participated in this competition.
The prize, worth 6 thousand euros, aims to distinguish the enterprise for the development of a software solution that allowed to adapt the data managed by the CUF Hospital to the new requirements of the ADSE, a health subsystem that covers the majority of public employees.
The solution presented by this spin-off from Porto allowed the CUF Hospital to save time and money, guaranteeing the articulation of the hospital with the ADSE and ensuring the direct reimbursement of health expenses of thousands of CUF users who benefit from this system.
The successful implementation of this solution has already guaranteed the long-term extension of the contract to the other 16 hospitals of the corporate group of private hospitals operating in Portugal.
For Ricardo Cruz-Correia, co-founder of HealthySystems and principal investigator of CINTESIS, this award represents an important recognition for the company. “It is very gratifying and allows us to have another confidence for the next steps we intend to take, namely the implementation of this solution in other private hospitals and the internationalization of HLTSYS“, he contextualizes.
“We are grateful to CUF for choosing our spin-off”, says the entrepreneur, adding that “the success of the partnership started with the José de Mello Saúde Group is mainly due to the commitment of the HLTSYS human resources, namely due to the technicians who are on the ground with the customers.”
HealthySystems was born in CINTESIS, in 2014, and began its activity in the area of integrations with the development of a pilot project in partnership with the IPO-Porto. The company’s mission is to promote the security and robustness of the Information Systems and Network Infrastructures of its customers, including in its offer secure authentication solutions, integration systems that promote the exchange of messages between different health information systems, among others.
The company is growing. Currently, the company has more than 20 employees and an annual revenue of half a million euros.
