A study by researchers from CINTESIS and the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto (FMUP) shows that “more than half of community pharmacists are not in the habit of reporting adverse drug reactions (ADRs) and about half have never reported a suspected reaction”.

“It is desirable to reverse this trend of underreporting among health professionals, even if the drugs placed on the market today have a more robust safety profile than in the past,” the authors conclude.
