MOAI LABS, a project with the participation of CINTESIS, organized a territorial awareness campaign to discuss the challenges of loneliness and social isolation in older adults, focusing on the potential of the digital world.
Another of the goals of this event, entitled “Connect 2 Older People”, which took place in November, was to publicize the project and the main results obtained so far. The researchers involved in this campaign considered it “a success”, as the video shows.
With about 70 persons in the audience, this initiative was attended by the group of “Experts by Experience”, older adults who feel lonely and who have participated in the co-creation sessions to guide the design of digital solutions that can minimize loneliness in this audience.
Also participating in this event were researchers from CINTESIS/the University of Aveiro (Liliana Sousa, Sara Guerra and Oscar Ribeiro), from the University of Beira Interior and the University of Coimbra, as well as the CEO of the app ACTIF AGE and representatives from the Higher Institute of Social Service of Porto and the Municipality of Ílhavo.
Within the framework of this European project, the partners from Spain and France have also carried out their awareness campaigns. Remember that the project involves partners from Spain (Fundación INTRAS, Gerencia de Servicios Sociales de Castilla y León, FUNGE Formación y Empleo, LEITAT and Ticbiomed), France (Institut des Métiers de la Longévité and Mutualité Française Limousine) and Portugal (CINTESIS/University of Aveiro and INOV INESC Inovação), having CINTESIS/UA as direct collaborators CASO50+, Instituto Superior de Serviço Social do Porto (ISSSP), Porto4Ageing and Instituto de Ciências Biomédicas Abel Salazar da Universidade do Porto.
MOAI LABS is a project funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) under the Interreg Sudoe program.
