Having its origin in the remodelling of the previous In4Health group, the HIS&EHR group– Health Information Systems & Electronic Health Records aims to develop research in the area of ICT processes and technologies, with the objective of delivering quality data that are relevant in the context of medical consultation in healthcare services.

The main challenge of the group is to develop methods that ensures the safe storage of patients’ data in terms of semantics, integrity, confidentiality and data availability. The main research topics are the health information systems, electronic health records (EHRs), interoperability among health information systems, terminologies, cybernetic safety, process management and data mining, EHRs information models, telemedicine and eHealth.
